About The Position

The Planning and Development department is hiring for a Temporary Records Management Clerk. This position is temporary and will not exceed nine (9) months. We’re seeking a Temporary Records Management Clerk to join our Planning and Development Department and support our team with important clerical and records‑focused tasks. This role will take on several detail‑oriented projects designed to help the Town reach key goals and maintain smooth administrative operations. All staff are expected to adhere to the Town’s mission, vision and values of TRUE.

Requirements

  • 18 years of age or older
  • Pre-employment screenings include: Reference checks
  • Background checks include: National and County Criminal Scan, Sex-Offender Registry check and Motor Vehicle Report through DMV
  • Administrative skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • The structure and content of the English language, including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
  • Modern equipment and communication tools used for business functions and program, project, and task coordination, including computers and software programs relevant to work performed
  • General knowledge of records management practices.
  • General knowledge of office procedures, practices, and equipment.
  • Operation of office equipment such as copier, calculator, 10-key
  • Word processing and spreadsheets
  • Problem solving
  • Following and applying written and oral work instructions
  • Performing common mathematical operations

Responsibilities

  • Review physical department records and compare them with existing electronic records.
  • Prepare physical/hard copy records for digitization.
  • Digitizes department and Planning Commission/Board of Adjustment and Appeals records.
  • Migrates existing electronic files into the town’s permanent records repository (Laserfische).
  • Organizes digitized records according to department protocols and records retention policy.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
