About The Position

The Records Management Administrator directs the planning, design, implementation, and maintenance of the City of Surprise’s enterprise-wide records management program. This role ensures compliance with legal mandates, optimizes digital transformation, manages public records requests, and fosters citywide records management coordination and training. The Administrator works under the direction of the Deputy City Clerk and the City Clerk, providing responsive, transparent, and customer-focused services to the public, city departments, and external agencies. Key duties include reviewing records, redacting confidential information, and ensuring deadlines are met.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration, Business, Library/Information Science or a related field.
  • Four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in records/information management.
  • Two years of supervisory and/or lead experience.
  • One year of relevant experience may be substituted for each year of required education.
  • Arizona Notary Public Commission (within 30 days of hire).
  • U.S. Passport Acceptance Agent Certification (within 30 days of hire).
