About The Position

Under the direction of the Director of Due Diligence and Records, this position is responsible for conducting accurate, timely, and compliant research of public records across local, state, federal, and international jurisdictions. The Analyst ensures data integrity while adhering to applicable legal, regulatory, and client-specific requirements.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Proficiency with online research tools, databases, and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Critical thinking and decision-making ability
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Valid driver's license, proof of insurance, and access to reliable transportation
  • Ability to pass pre-employment background screening, including drug testing and criminal history evaluation
  • Ability to sit for extended periods and work on a computer for prolonged durations
  • Flexibility to work outside standard business hours, including evenings and weekends as needed
  • Ability to pass a drug screening and extensive background check

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Minimum of one (1) year in public records research, background investigations, legal research, or a related field preferred

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive public records research, including but not limited to: Criminal and civil court records, Judgments, liens, and bankruptcy filings, Property, deed, and tax records, Corporate filings and business registrations, Other jurisdiction-specific records as required
  • Navigate online databases, court portals, and third-party or in-person record sources to obtain accurate information
  • Verify subject identity and resolve discrepancies, including common names, aliases, and incomplete data
  • Analyze findings for accuracy, relevance, and reportability in accordance with client scope and regulatory guidelines
  • Prepare clear, concise, and well-documented reports summarizing research results
  • Review and process legal and public record documents as required
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive and personally identifiable information (PII)
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations (e.g., FCRA, GDPR, and state privacy laws)
  • Meet productivity and turnaround time expectations while maintaining high quality standards
  • Collaborate effectively within a team environment
  • Perform operational tasks including travel to state offices for record retrieval and daily mail pickup
