About The Position

The Recording Studio Graduate Assistant will provide instruction on Recording Studio equipment and skills, troubleshoot and maintain equipment, and assist with video production. This role involves facilitating workshops, developing projects with student organizations, and assisting with studio events. The assistant will also be responsible for maintaining the studio space and ensuring safe use of equipment. Training will be provided for job performance duties.

Requirements

Must be enrolled at least at part-time, degree-seeking status at Dominican University
Must be eligible for US Employment
Ability to deal effectively and efficiently with patrons
Good communication skills with patrons and supervisors
Dependability and ability to work independently
Familiarity with various methods, techniques and materials used in video production

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of Audacity, Garageband, Panopto, DaVinci Resolve

Responsibilities

Provide individual and group instruction on Recording Studio equipment and skills
Troubleshoot, maintain, and document Recording Studio equipment
Aid with various elements of video production
Maintain machines, tools, materials, safe use, and schedule of the Recording Studio
Facilitate workshops and training for students on the use of equipment and safety protocols
Develop projects in partnership with student organizations and groups interested in promoting use/space of Recording Studio
Assist with Recording Studio events, workshops, and classes
Perform other duties as requested, delegated or assigned
