About The Position

This role is an important contributor to the creation and publication of an electronic record for all patient types. The position is responsible for accurate and timely record processing, including loose report filing and imaging, picking up discharge records, updating old records, prepping inpatient, ER and outpatient records, and filing charts in alphabetical and terminal digit order. The individual will examine pages, verify patient identification, batch and scan records, and perform QC/Validation as assigned. This role also involves assisting customers, maintaining scanning equipment, and possessing sufficient English language skills for job functions. Additionally, knowledge of standard office equipment and computer software is required, with specific proficiency in Windows computer skills expected within the first two weeks of employment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma and/or combination of education and experience
  • 1 - 3 years experience in chart assembly, discharge record processing and previous HIS I or related experience
  • Knowledge of standard office equipment (i.e., calculator, fax, photocopier)
  • Personal computer and computer software skills (i.e., MS Windows, Excel, Access, Word, Powerpoint, internet, e-mail)
  • Windows computer skills including proficient use of keyboarding, use of mouse or keys for functions such as selecting items, use of drop down menus, scroll bars, opening folders, copying and similar operations required upon employment or within the 1st two weeks of employment to perform the essential functions of the job.
