About The Position

The Recognition Manager plays a critical role in ensuring the OTE is accepted by key institutions and decision makers. This in turn drives market growth and revenue across the regions. Responsible for delivering engagement, recognition activity and targets with International Higher Education communities, Ministries, Employers and other stakeholders globally. Working with the Global Recognition Lead and the Assessment marketing team, the postholder will drive reach, recognition and advocacy, playing a critical role in ensuring Oxford Test of English is accepted by key institutions across the Education and Employment sector. Focused on designated markets and key institutions, initially North America, the postholder will manage Institutions through the entire recognition journey to gain acceptance of students’ results for the Oxford Test of English to meet English proficiency requirements.

Requirements

  • Understanding the underpinning value of recognition on commercial success.
  • Ability to develop and deliver plans for recognition activity in key destination countries for international students.
  • Liaise with Admissions, International Office and English Language staff at target Higher Education Institutions.
  • Respond to follow up queries regarding the assessment.
  • Identify and seek recognition from relevant employers.
  • Provide materials and commentary to support Ministry or other national body approval processes.
  • Support local teams seeking Ministry approval in their region.
  • Liaise with national stakeholders to build awareness of the OTE.
  • Provide updated information to be included on relevant databases.
  • Develop messages on recognition, including positive comparisons with competitors.
  • Develop materials, including maintenance of FAQs, for use during the recognition process and for the recognition section of the website.
  • Seek feedback on the value admissions staff place on the OTE.
  • Identify appropriate admissions contacts to contribute to focus groups etc.
  • Attend virtual and face to face events and conferences of stakeholder bodies.
  • Identify appropriate events for inclusion in the recognition events calendar.
  • Suggest opportunities for involvement in events.
  • Develop and host webinars and other events to raise awareness of the OTE amongst the International HE community.
  • Continually develop relevant skills within the team including persuasion and lobbying.
  • Track global progress.
  • Contribute to the continuous development of systems used to manage progress and dashboards for reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the ongoing development of the strategy to increase recognition of the Oxford Test of English globally, understanding the underpinning value of recognition on commercial success.
  • Develop and deliver plans for recognition activity in key destination countries for international students.
  • Liaise with Admissions, International Office and English Language staff at target Higher Education Institutions to provide key messages about the assessment, responding to follow up queries, with a view to gaining formal recognition of the assessment for admissions purposes.
  • Identify and seek recognition from relevant employers based in the country, where they have specific English language requirements.
  • Seek Ministry or other national body approval of OTE, where required, through the provision of materials and commentary to support any application process. Provide support to local teams seeking Ministry approval in their region.
  • Liaise with national stakeholders to build awareness of the OTE and provide any updated information to be included on relevant databases.
  • Work with Recognition, Assessment colleagues and the Assessment Marketing teams to develop messages on recognition, including positive comparisons with competitors for use both locally and by the wider Recognition team, and on the continued development of materials, including maintenance of FAQs, for use during the recognition process and for the recognition section of the website.
  • Inform future development by seeking feedback on the value admissions staff place on the OTE, identifying appropriate admissions contacts to contribute to focus groups etc.
  • Attend virtual and face to face events and conferences of stakeholder bodies, identifying appropriate events for inclusion in the recognition events calendar and suggesting opportunities for involvement.
  • Work with Assessment Marketing colleagues to develop and host webinars and other events to raise awareness of the OTE amongst the International HE community.
  • Work with Sales Enablement and the central recognition team to continually develop relevant skills within the team including persuasion and lobbying.
  • Support the Global Recognition Lead to track global progress, contributing to the continuous development of systems used to manage progress and dashboards for reporting.
