About The Position

This role involves operating CNC machinery, specifically HAAS, Cincinnati, Vertical Horizontal Lathes, for milling, punching, and drilling metal parts. The technician will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC machines to produce small components and other parts to specifications. The position requires adherence to standardized work procedures, active participation in improving the work area, and the ability to use various tools and equipment safely. The technician will also be responsible for identifying component parts, adhering to work rotation plans, completing training matrices, and understanding Work Station Instructions. Computer systems will be used to access company data, drawings, bills of materials, and specification sheets.

Requirements

  • Must be capable of repetitive hand manipulation, grasping and supporting power tools.
  • Must be able to stand on concrete for entire shift with repetitive bending, stooping, twisting, reaching and lifting up to 50 pounds (with assistance from a team member or use of hoist).
  • Must maintain a clean work area.
  • Meet quality standards and implement continuous improvement measures.
  • Ability to operate riveting, torqueing, hand tools and small power tools in a safe and nondestructive manner.
  • Read and understand Work Station Instruction documentation.
  • Ability to collaborate with a team and work independently.
  • Established satisfactory attendance record and performance rating.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work permanently in the country the position is located in at the time of application.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing (automotive/trucking) environment.
  • Previous mechanical experience.
  • Currently holds CNC Certificate.
  • High School Diploma / GED preferred and further college education a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC machinery that automatically mills, punches, and drills metal parts.
  • Operate HAAS, Cincinnati, Vertical Horizontal Lathes, machining small components, and other CNC Machines as needed.
  • Load and unload parts into CNC machinery.
  • Operate machinery to make parts to specifications and rate.
  • Set-up and read gauges.
  • Use of surface tester computer.
  • Set-up and touch-off.
  • Understand machine codes and adjustments, and diagnose quality issues.
  • Operate torque wrenches, air tools, presses, gauges (manual, digital, auto), hoist, press.
  • Use of pallet jack, hoist, and other PIV equipment.
  • Properly identify component parts by learning identification numbers.
  • Adhere to established work rotation plan.
  • Complete training matrix for each rotation position.
  • Read and understand Work Station Instructions.
  • Use computer systems to access company data associated with the assembly process, utilize drawings, bills of materials and specification sheets in both electronic and hard copy.
  • Perform physically demanding manufacturing duties including repetitive processes, moderate to heavy lifting, and the use of machinery.
  • Actively participate in improving work area in terms of safety, quality, attendance, productivity, suggestion activities, housekeeping, and throughput.
  • Cross train on other jobs as required.
  • Work overtime when necessary.
