About The Position
Eaton’s Aerospace Division is seeking an individual currently enrolled in a manufacturing or machining education program to train for a full-time CNC machinist position upon completion of the program. This position is based at our North Charleston, SC location. The apprenticeship requires at least 15 hours per week, with an hourly rate of $19. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in manufacturing/mechatronics classes or acceptance in an apprenticeship program
- Ability to work at least 15 hours per week
- Must be a U.S. person (U.S. citizen or national, U.S. lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee) to conform to U.S. Government export regulations.
- Reside within the immediate area of North Charleston, SC (50 miles).
Nice To Haves
- Experience using lean or lean tools
- Strong mathematical skills
- OSHA 10 hour certification
Responsibilities
- Work with experienced CNC Machinists to learn the skills required to machine and perform necessary quality checks on high precision parts for Aerospace applications.
- Load and unload CNC machines including mills and lathes
- Read and interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, customer specification and internal drawings and procedures
- Utilize Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
- Perform quality checks using airgages, plug gauges, microhites and traces.
- Understand and execute various safety processes and requirements
- Use 5S+ to ensure a safe and efficient work area
