About The Position

This is a non-exempt position. The employee in this position is responsible for receiving and/or screening telephone calls and greeting visitors to the office by responding to their concerns and/or by directing them to the proper authority. This position also performs general clerical duties as directed by supervisor and County Attorney.

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
  • Must have the ability to receive, interpret, and follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Required to read, write, and speak English fluently.
  • Must have or acquire knowledge relating to civil and criminal law.
  • Requires sufficient visual acuity to be able to read and write and operate equipment common to this position.
  • Requires sufficient hearing level to be able to effectively communicate with people directly or by telephone.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and screen telephone calls and greet visitors to the office and respond to their concerns and/or direct them to the proper authority.
  • Complete Pre-disposition Report forms as directed by supervisor
  • Open and distribute mail
  • General typing
  • Scan, electronically file and keep organized a large amount of documents
  • Perform general tasks and related duties as requested by supervisor
  • Duty to maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that employee gets along with customers, citizens, coworkers, and management.
  • Being courteous, respectful, helpful, and civil with others on the job and displaying a good-natured, cooperative attitude
