About The Position

The City of Jonesboro is seeking a customer-focused Part-time Receptionist to serve as the first point of contact for citizens, contractors, developers, and visitors. This position is responsible for providing reception and administrative support to the department.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Approximately one year of administrative or office support experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong typing, data entry, and organizational skills.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office or similar office software.
  • Friendly, professional, and customer-service driven.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working with multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Confident using computers and office software.
  • An effective communicator who enjoys working with the public.
  • Dependable, adaptable, and a collaborative team player.
  • Microsoft Office, Spreadsheets, Word Processing/Typing

Nice To Haves

  • ADP experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome visitors and answer questions in person and over the phone.
  • Assist citizens, contractors, and developers with permit and application inquiries.
  • Prepare correspondence, reports, ordinances, agendas, and other documents.
  • Organize and maintain department files and databases.
  • Help prepare meeting packets for boards and commissions.
  • Maintain office supplies and support.
  • Work 20-25 hours per week, M-F 12:30p - 5:00p. Occasionally fill in for the mornings as needed.
  • Acts as receptionist.
  • Maintains office supply inventory.
  • Composes and types routine office correspondence, reports, ordinances, resolutions, etc.
  • Maintains files for all department subdivisions, site plan and zoning records as well as updating the information tracking system.
  • Acts as the point of input for all software automation processes for permit submissions.
  • Responds to citizen's requests in a complete, courteous and timely manner by telephone or front counter.
  • Assist in the development of review packets for various boards and commissions at the direction of the administrator.
  • Assists in Database maintenance of all incoming plats and applications; Assigns case numbers.
  • Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
