About The Position

Join our team at The Homestead Ambulatory Infusion Center, where compassionate care, clinical excellence, and patient comfort are at the heart of everything we do. Our specialized team provides a wide range of outpatient infusion and treatment services, including IV infusions, blood and blood product transfusions, IV antibiotic therapy, hydration therapy, iron replacement therapy, electrolyte therapy, IVIG, injections, central line care and maintenance, and therapeutic phlebotomy. As part of Haywood Regional Medical Center, The Homestead offers a collaborative, patient-focused environment dedicated to delivering high-quality care that helps patients manage complex conditions while maintaining their daily lives.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous experience in a medical office, outpatient clinic, healthcare registration, or customer service role preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to provide exceptional patient service.
  • Proficiency with computer systems, electronic health records (EHRs), and standard office software.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record required, with the ability to safely operate a company vehicle between the Infusion Center and hospital locations.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise professionalism, and work collaboratively as part of a patient-focused healthcare team.

  • Associate's Degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients, visitors, and caregivers with professionalism, compassion, and exceptional customer service.
  • Schedule, confirm, and coordinate patient appointments while maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Verify patient demographic and insurance information and assist with registration and check-in/check-out processes.
  • Answer and direct incoming phone calls, respond to inquiries, and relay messages promptly and accurately.
  • Support clinical staff by preparing patient documentation, managing correspondence, and maintaining organized records.
  • Transport medications, blood products, and supplies between the Infusion Center and the hospital using a company vehicle, supporting daily operations through frequent trips and active movement throughout the day.
  • Ensure the reception area remains welcoming, organized, and compliant with privacy and confidentiality standards.
  • Collaborate with patients, providers, and team members to promote a seamless care experience and support the center's mission of delivering high-quality outpatient infusion services.
