About The Position

Three Trails Behavioral Hospital in the area of Independence, MO is actively hiring Receptionist for our Intake Department. Our front desk team plays a vital role in creating a welcoming first impression for patients, families, and visitors. The Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for the hospital, providing professional, friendly, and efficient front desk support. This role is responsible for greeting visitors, managing calls, and assisting with administrative tasks to support daily operations.
The name Three Trails was selected to honor the historical significance of the city of Independence as the starting point for the Santa Fe, Oregon and California Trails. The logo icon is a compass, which is symbolic of wayfinding, and metaphorically the personal journey to recovery.
The Groundbreaking for the new hospital was held in January 2025. Beam topping was held in July 2025. The facility is expected to open in the second half of 2026.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Strong communication and customer service skills, especially in sensitive situations
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
• Basic computer proficiency (EHR systems and Microsoft Office preferred)
• Professional, calm, and compassionate demeanor

Nice To Haves

• Previous receptionist, admissions, or healthcare administrative experience preferred
• Experience in behavioral health or hospital setting is a plus

Responsibilities

• Greet and check in patients, families, and visitors for intake and admissions
• Answer and route incoming calls related to admissions and inquiries
• Assist with intake documentation and ensure accuracy of patient information
• Verify basic patient information and assist with registration processes
• Maintain confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations
• Monitor and maintain a professional, welcoming reception area
• Provide general information about services and admission procedures
