About The Position

Sea Mar Community Health Centers is seeking a Receptionist to greet and provide guidance to visitors and callers, and offer administrative clerical support. The organization is a Federally Qualified Health Center founded in 1978, dedicated to providing comprehensive health, human, housing, educational, and cultural services to diverse communities, with a specialization in serving Latinos in Washington State. Sea Mar serves all individuals regardless of race, ethnicity, immigration status, gender, sexual orientation, or ability to pay. The network includes over 90 medical, dental, and behavioral health clinics, along with various nutritional, social, and educational services. This role requires adherence to a mandatory COVID-19 and flu vaccine policy.

Requirements

  • High school education required.
  • Good communication (written and verbal) and organizational skills.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English, with demonstrated writing and speaking fluency.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Must take and pass an annual TB test.
  • Annual influenza vaccine required (with exceptions for approved medical or religious exemptions).
  • Must sign an oath of permanent confidentiality covering all patient-related information.
  • Must comply with all ethical standards of Sea Mar.
  • Must complete an annual competency test as a receptionist.
  • No history or evidence of alcohol or other drug misuse for a period of three (3) years immediately prior to the date of employment, and no misuse of alcohol or other drugs while employed.

Nice To Haves

  • Word processing and spreadsheet experience desired.
  • Customer Service/General Front Desk training is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Responds to telephone calls professionally by directing callers to appropriate staff members or by taking written messages.
  • Responds to visitors politely and professionally by directing them to appropriate staff members and/or locations.
  • Handles all oral and written tasks in fluent English or fluent Spanish, as appropriate to individual tasks.
  • Provides helpful, efficient clerical support to administrative personnel, including typing, word processing, and spreadsheets, within the constraints of telephone and in-person contacts.
  • Receives incoming mail, stamps exterior of all incoming mail, and for specified types of mail (including accounts payable), opens and stamps it.
  • Weighs and places correct postage on outgoing business mail.
  • Assists with receiving deliveries of supplies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
