About The Position

The Receptionist creates a positive environment by welcoming visitors in person or on the telephone in a responsive and appropriate manner while also accurately performing job tasks. This role involves managing a multi-line phone system, directing calls, taking messages, and answering emergency calls for nursing, behavior team, and/or supervisor support. The Receptionist is responsible for responding calmly and quickly to dispatch teams, using various communication systems (intercom, phone, email, walkie-talkie) to provide information, and following school safety plan protocols and visitor management systems to ensure safety and proper student release. Additionally, the role includes collecting, entering, and disseminating student and staff attendance information, participating in meetings and professional development, and performing other administrative tasks as assigned by the Superintendent or School Principal. Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience or specialized training in computers, demonstrating competence with word processing, excel, and email applications, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Creates a positive environment by welcoming visitors in person or on the telephone in a responsive and appropriate manner while also accurately performing job tasks.
  • Answers a multi-line phone system, directs calls to the appropriate party, and/or takes messages.
  • Answers emergency calls for nursing, behavior team, and/or supervisor support.
  • Responds calmly and quickly to dispatch teams to the correct location.
  • Uses the intercom, phone system, email, and intra-school direct connect (walkie talkie) phones to provide information to the appropriate party.
  • Follows the school safety plan protocols and visitor management system to maintain safety, connect visitors to the appropriate Mary Cariola personnel, and ensure students are released only to the proper person.
  • Collects, enters, and disseminates student and staff attendance information to the appropriate person, database, or email distribution group.
  • Participates in meetings and professional development activities as directed by the supervisor.
  • Performs other administrative assistant, clerical, or computer tasks as assigned by the Superintendent or School Principal.

Benefits

  • Salary Range: $17.34 - $19.47 per hour
