About The Position

The Receptionist is responsible for the front desk operations of a healthcare facility. Your role will involve greeting patients, scheduling appointments, handling inquiries, and maintaining patient records. The Receptionist ensures a smooth and welcoming experience for patients and supports the medical team with several administrative tasks. Typically work on routine and patterned assignments. The Receptionist welcomes patients and provides administrative support within a physician practice or healthcare center. You will report to the Center Administrator and serve as a key member of the front office team, ensuring exceptional patient service and efficient practice operations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1 year or more of experience working in a Healthcare setting preferred, but will consider candidates with a strong Customer Service background in Retail Hospitality, Call Centers, etc.
  • Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving patient experiences and care
  • Excellent customer service and phone etiquette
  • Team player with a positive attitude
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Attention to detail and highly organized
  • Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access)

Responsibilities

  • Greet Patients: Welcome patients and visitors, both in person and over the phone.
  • Schedule Appointments: Manage appointment calendars, schedule patient visits, and coordinate with medical staff to improve schedules.
  • Patient Records: Update patient records, ensuring accuracy. Work in Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems.
  • Billing and Payments: Ensure patient accounts are updated correctly. May include collecting copay at time of visit.
  • Inquiries and Communication: Answer incoming calls, respond to patient inquiries, and provide general information.
  • Office Management: Ensure the reception area is tidy, sanitized, and well-stocked with necessary materials.
  • Administrative Support: Help with other administrative tasks, such as ordering supplies, managing office inventory, and sending courier packages.
