About The Position

Provide administrative and customer support to all Social Services and Administrative departments.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Valid PA Driver’s License
  • Excellent telephone and interpersonal skills
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Access, etc.).
  • Must be bilingual, Spanish – English, in both verbal and written communication to best serve the community
  • Pennsylvania's Child Protective Services Law requires that all prospective employees complete the following clearance and background checks: PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check, and PA DHS Criminal Record/Fingerprint Check.
  • In addition, completion of a Pennsylvania approved Child Abuse Recognition and Reporting Training is necessary prior to employment.
  • Must understand and support for the Mission of The Salvation Army.

Responsibilities

  • Administrative duties such as greeting individuals coming into the building, answering phones, receiving/sending faxes, filing for the Family Services Department.
  • Professionally greet everyone who calls or comes to the building and appropriately refer them to the right staff member.
  • Ensure that visitors are signed in and out of the building to ensure security within the building.
  • Perform pre-screens for Family Services clients including providing an explanation of all required documentation for appointments and program eligibility.
  • Provide paperwork for utility and other services as needed including collecting and copying documentation required by each program.
  • Schedule clients for appointments within the Family Services Department.
  • Refer clients to other agencies when appropriate.
  • Process-in-kind donations according to policy, including organizing and rotating daily donations in the reception area.
  • Assist in maintaining and updating the Social Services Database, Healthify Database, Internal Referral Tracking, etc. to ensure accurate records as needed for statistical and billing purposes.
  • Assist in the completion of UGI CAP/OpSHARE phone calls and enrollments, including ordering UGI paperwork.
  • Assist in the distribution of food, clothing or other commodities, including Thanksgiving and Christmas assistance programs as necessary.
  • Assist with home visits as needed.
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned.
