About The Position

Royal Vancouver Yacht Club, established in 1903, is a renowned private yacht club located in the heart of Vancouver, BC. With a rich history and a commitment to excellence, the Club offers world-class dining experiences, outstanding recreational facilities, and a vibrant social atmosphere. We are seeking a motivated and detail-driven Front Desk Receptionist to join our team at Jericho Clubhouse.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Previous customer-service experience, preferably in hospitality, with strong interpersonal skills and a polished, professional demeanor.
  • Proven ability to multitask, prioritize effectively, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Office 365 and Adobe Suite; experience with JONAS is an asset.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Availability to work Saturdays, Sundays, and weekday evenings.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Professional/business attire required.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of sailing or yacht club operations is desirable but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

  • Warmly and professionally greet Members, visitors, and guests.
  • Respond promptly and knowledgeably to phone calls, emails, and in-person inquiries, providing accurate information.
  • Answer a multi-line telephone system, direct calls appropriately, take and relay messages, and communicate general information; assist with website troubleshooting and reservation bookings.
  • Offer guidance on the Club's facilities, programs, events, and services.
  • Collaborate closely with other departments to ensure seamless coordination and exceed Member expectations.
  • Provide administrative and operational support to the Membership, Marketing & Communications and Food & Beverage teams as required, including assisting with Member inquiries, communications, event information, dining reservations, and other day-to-day departmental needs.
  • Ability to quickly learn departmental structure and escalate inquiries to the appropriate team.
  • Develop a working knowledge of the Club, its Members, traditions, and programs in order to accurately share information about upcoming events and dates.
  • Organize outgoing and incoming correspondence with reciprocal clubs, acting as a liaison between RVYC and other international yacht clubs.
  • Assist with the organization and distribution of Club communications, notices, promotional materials, and other Member-facing information as required.
  • Perform other administrative duties as required.
  • Assist with Merchandise organization.
