About The Position

The Receptionist contributes to our joyful and vibrant community by receiving and directing visitors, employment applicants, sales persons, employees, residents and family members to appropriate locations and parties. This role involves maintaining a safe and clean reception area, performing clerical duties, and ensuring smooth communication within the organization.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Demonstrates basic computer knowledge and ability with an aptitude to learn company applications.
  • Good organizational and verbal/written communication skills.
  • Ability to relate positively, effectively, and appropriately with residents, families, community members, volunteers, and other community staff.
  • Possesses special interest in, and a positive attitude about, working with long-term care residents and the elderly.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Pass a criminal background and fingerprint check.
  • Maintains current food handlers card.
  • Ability to work independently (with minimum supervision).

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and overtime, to meet the requirements of the position.
  • Ability to creatively problem-solve in resident care.
  • Meets all mandatory health requirements by State regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome visitors in person or on the telephone.
  • Interact with visitors, residents, and staff in a joyful manner.
  • Provide information to inquiries to support marketing and sales efforts.
  • Maintain employee and department directories.
  • Operate the company phone system to receive and connect incoming calls.
  • Maintain the telecommunication system by following manufacturer's instructions.
  • Maintain a safe and clean reception area.
  • Perform related clerical work such as data entry, filing, sorting, and distributing mail.
  • Maintain continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Check bathrooms for cleanliness, toilet paper, and paper towels every 2 hours.
  • Vacuum lobby & theatre daily and maintain cleanliness.
  • Enforce appropriate security procedures.
  • Maintain hallway cleanliness and ensure it is free from clutter every 2 hours.
  • Check fax machine and distribute faxes.
  • May conduct preliminary screening of employment applicants.
  • Attend and participate in required meetings and trainings.
  • Stay current on all system assigned tasks and duties.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Maintain a clean, neat, comfortable, safe environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
