About The Position

This position will greet patients, answer phones, schedule appointments, and perform other front desk activities. The ideal candidate must be comfortable working with underserved populations, specifically in Alcohol and Drug Prevention Services.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent OR a combination of education and related work experience.
  • 0 to 1 year of related experience.
  • Knowledge of administrative processes and procedures.
  • Knowledge of basic medical terminology.
  • High level of professionalism, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to communicate in an articulate, professional manner while maintaining a necessary degree of confidentiality.
  • Ability to type accurately and efficiently.
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and multi-task while maintaining quality standards.
  • Ability to pleasantly and effectively represent the organization.
  • Must provide proof of required vaccinations by federal, state, and local funding sources.
  • Employees driving personal vehicles for El Proyecto business must provide El Proyecto proof of a valid driving license, and auto liability insurance.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent OR a combination of education and related work experience preferred.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
  • BLS/CPR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients upon arrival, collect necessary information, and get patients checked in.
  • Receive phone calls and screen and direct calls.
  • Schedule appointments, coordinate with staff, facilitate appointment cancellations, and reschedule requests.
  • Verify patient insurance information.
  • Track telephonic sessions and group session attendance, including telehealth and in-person.
  • Log urinalysis test results and deliver results to appropriate counselors.
  • Complete office administrative tasks.
  • Order and maintain front desk supplies.
  • File documents and follow record retention policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
