About The Position

Good Samaritan Hospital is seeking a dedicated Receptionist to join their GSPN OB/GYN team. This role is crucial in maintaining a welcoming environment for patients and visitors, ensuring smooth operations, and supporting the healthcare team.

Requirements

High School graduate
Knowledge of software applications and administrative and clerical procedures.
Proficient in spelling, grammar, punctuation, and other language skills.
Proficient in keyboarding, data entry and business writing.

Responsibilities

Welcome patients and visitors with a greeting, answer or refer inquiries, and maintain the reception area.
Schedule patient appointments in person or by telephone to optimize patient satisfaction, provider time, and treatment room utilization.
Keep patient appointments on schedule by notifying providers of patient arrivals and informing providers and patients of delays.
Comfort patients by anticipating their anxieties and answering their questions.
Maintain patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal and billing information, and collecting and recording patient payments.
Maintain office supplies and equipment by anticipating needed supplies, placing and expediting orders, and verifying receipt of ordered supplies.
Protect patient rights by maintaining the confidentiality of personal and financial information.
Maintain operations by following policies and procedures and reporting needed changes.
Distribute incoming, outgoing, and inter-office mail.
Ensure availability of treatment information by filing and retrieving patient records.
Respond to emergencies to help patients in distress.
Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
