About The Position

The Receptionist/Front Office Cashier position is part of the Administrative Department and involves various shifts from 6 am to 6 pm. This role reports to the Store Manager and offers a pay rate of $19-20/Hr (DOE). The position requires a commitment to safety policies, enhancing the customer experience, and resolving customer complaints. It involves partnering with sales associates, accurately completing customer transactions, and educating customers on return policies. The role also assists with merchandise support, basic internet navigation, and requires basic communication skills. Responding to public address system announcements, identifying reports and labels, and recognizing/using merchandise and reports are also key functions.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Receptionist or similar administrative and/or clerical role
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Webex applications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Ability to maintain a congenial calm communication style and the ability to diffuse and address issues that may arise
  • Have strong independent follow-up skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to demonstrate attention to detail, and accuracy

  • Ability to regularly use computers for ordering, communication, documentation, scheduling, and maintenance of organizational content on shared drives.
  • High School diploma required; equivalent combination of education and experience accepted in lieu of degree.
  • A pre-employment drug screen and background check must be passed upon the job offer.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist all visitors with a pleasant and professional demeanor
  • Monitor and enforce security measures for who enters and exits the corporate offices
  • Communicate with AFW employees about visitor arrivals and departures
  • Answers all incoming calls to the reception phone line and directs them accordingly
  • Address and manage emails sent to and from the receptionist distribution list
  • Use company information and policy knowledge to assist best all who inquire
  • Support consistency and accuracy of communication with employees and visitors
  • Coordinate and schedule container arrivals to the AFW DCs
  • Assist in mailing out donations to our various philanthropic partners and charities
  • Assemble new hire orientation and sales training packet materials
  • Receive and sort incoming mail and packages from UPS, USPS, FedEx, and other various vendors
  • Receive and sort supplies upon arrival and distribute them accordingly
  • Keep a clean and professional reception desk and area
  • Act as a team player and be willing to help where needed
  • Commitment to AFW’s safety policies and procedures and ability to promote awareness.
  • Takes ownership of enhancing the customer experience.
  • Addresses customer complaints and resolves problems as needed.
  • Partners with selling and sales support associates to provide superior customer service (i.e., assist customers, and answer phones).
  • Leverages technology in order to facilitate the customer experience.
  • Completes customer transactions accurately and efficiently at point-of-sale.
  • Executes consistent operational and selling processes (i.e., credit application process).
  • Educates customers and employees on our Satisfaction Guaranteed return policy.
  • Assists in resolving basic customer issues.
  • Assists with merchandise support tasks (i.e., maintenance, straightening merchandise).
  • Uses basic internet navigation to access and print information/reports.
  • Basic reading, arithmetic, writing, and oral communication skills.
  • Responding to public address system announcements.
  • Identifying and reading reports, tickets, and UPC labels.
  • Requires recognizing, identifying, and using merchandise and necessary reports.
