About The Position

Working independently and exercising good judgment and discretion under the direction and supervision of the Director in a strong team setting, the Receptionist will assist with smooth, efficient, and organized office operations including filing and managing all mail, emails, phone calls, and front desk responsibilities, including meeting and directing all persons entering the Center.

Requirements

  • A four-year college degree
  • Previous office experience
  • Strong working knowledge of Office Suite
  • Effective communication both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to intuitively reason, analyze information and events, and apply judgment in order to solve problems of both a routine and complex nature.
  • Excellent computer and organizational skills.
  • Regularly required to lift 10 or fewer pounds.
  • Proof of a valid driver’s license, an acceptable DMV record, LU Driving Approval, and liability insurance is required when driving in the performance of the employee’s position.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Higher Education preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Correspond and interact as the first point of contact with faculty, administration, and the public.
  • Coordinate and track ProDev activities and scheduling, including: Course entry; Sending reminders to presenters and enrolled faculty; Creating course rosters; Inputting attendance; Periodic review of inactivity and clean-up.
  • Assist in organization and hospitality of Center events and services, including room reservations and meetings.
  • Assist with all promotions, marketing of events, and special activities.
  • Work effectively as a team member, embracing and fostering LU’s mission.
