About The Position

This position involves registering the public for court in JCMS, maintaining docket lists, directing individuals to assigned courtrooms or locations, answering telephones, appointing interpreters, emailing information, maintaining paperwork, assisting the Appeals Clerk with processing and filing, and performing other assigned duties. The role requires demonstrating regular and predictable attendance.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1 to 3 years of work-related experience
  • Ability to answer questions and guide individuals who need information about court hearing locations.
  • Ability to type accurately and efficiently in a variety of systems, write legibly and demonstrate excellent clerical skills.
  • Ability to operate a computer and use computer software, including, but not limited to: GroupWise, Microsoft Office and JCMS.
  • Ability to perform duties in an organized and efficient manner, demonstrating excellent organizational skills, time management skills and a high degree of precision.
  • Ability to communicate professionally, courteously and effectively in person, in writing, and over the phone.
  • Ability to maintain positive, professional working relationships with associates, supervisors, officials and the general public.
  • Job knowledge of departmental policies and procedures, resources of Hamilton County benefits available to the public, and Juvenile Court personnel policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Registers public for Court in JCMS and maintains docket list for referral and use by Case Managers.
  • Directs the public, attorneys and agency personnel to assigned courtrooms or to correct locations.
  • Answers telephone and directs calls to proper locations.
  • Appoints interpreters, emails information to proper personnel and maintains paperwork.
  • Assists the Appeals Clerk with processing, filing and transmitting of paperwork.
  • Assists with redaction of documents as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance.
