About The Position

The Receptionist is responsible for answering and redirecting incoming telephone calls to the corporate, area, or division office, accurately ascertaining the nature of each inquiry. This role also involves greeting visitors, determining their business, and connecting them with the appropriate Republic Services' department or individual. Additionally, the Receptionist handles incoming mail, composes routine correspondence, files records, manages the central inventory of security badges, and orders building supplies under the guidance of the Facilities Manager. Maintaining the highest level of confidentiality at all times is crucial, along with performing other assigned job-related duties.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 1 year of prior experience as a receptionist in an environment with in-person and telephone responsibility.
  • High school diploma or G.E.D.
  • A minimum of 6 months of prior experience in an office environment.
  • Email, Word, Excel, PowerPoint skills.

Responsibilities

  • Answers incoming telephone calls in a pleasant and timely manner.
  • Ascertains nature of caller’s inquiry and directs caller to appropriate department or individual.
  • Greets visitors, ascertains nature of business, if required, and contacts required Republic Services’ department or individual.
  • Reads and routes incoming mail.
  • Composes and prepares routine correspondence.
  • Files correspondence and other records.
  • Manages central badge inventory for lost/forgotten security badges.
  • Orders building supplies as directed by supervisor.
  • Maintains highest level of confidentiality at all times.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
