About The Position

Team members are assigned a primary role on the patient access team and may perform check-in, registration and scheduling functions, as well as address inquiries via telephone, email, or fax. The care Model Process (CMP) guidelines are to be utilized and followed for all workflows.

Requirements

  • 6 months related experience
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Two years in customer service, working in a hospital, or medical clinic setting or graduate of a formal training program in medical reception or customer service.

Nice To Haves

  • Some medical background preferred.
  • Two-year degree in related studies preferred

Responsibilities

  • Answer incoming calls in queue and support department internal lines
  • Review and understand individual and team measures that support service goals.
  • Direct emergency calls in an appropriate manner according to department guidelines
  • Greet and direct patients to appropriate patient care areas
  • Complete necessary paperwork to support the patient visit
  • Complete the closing process for collection of payments and co-pays
  • Conduct patient reminder calls or prepares written notification for scheduled appointments
  • Establishes and maintains department files and providers schedules
  • Promote and maintain good patient relations and confidentiality
