About The Position

The Receptionist Lead is responsible for daily workflow support of the reception team, processes, and patient intake. This role manages activity at the reception level, schedules appointments, and verifies insurance eligibility. The Receptionist Lead serves as a liaison between the Clinic Supervisor and patients to the medical support staff.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Demonstrates administrative proficiency in a medical environment.
  • 2 years’ experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assists the Clinic Supervisor in monitoring administrative functions of Receptionist duties.
  • Serves as liaison between the Clinic Supervisor and clinic Receptionists.
  • Facilitates timely flow of written and verbal information from the Clinic Supervisor to the associates to include organizational and departmental goals/objectives, policies, procedures, and quality initiatives.
  • Identifies areas for quality improvement in policies & procedures and works with the Clinic Supervisor to make necessary changes.
  • Orients new hires to the department and position. Ensures associates are fully trained and provides feedback as needed.
  • Collaborates with the Clinic Supervisor for staff meetings to address issues and concerns and share information as needed for receptionist staff and area.
  • Notifies the HIPAA Privacy Officer and the Clinic Supervisor of any HIPAA violations.
  • Monitors and provides feedback to the Clinic Supervisor regarding staff performance and conduct issues. Collectively determines next steps engaging HR when needed.
  • Performs receptionist duties as outlined in the Receptionist job description.
  • Does patient outreach and promotes patient engagement programs.
  • Keeps updated on medical coding.
  • Identifies work problems and presents to Operations Supervisor with suggested answers or changes.
  • Ensures office supply inventory is current, mail is opened and processed, and offices are opened and closed according to procedures.
  • Works with other administrative staff to ensure efforts are coordinated and high-quality patient care is provided.
  • Stays current with workflow processes, requirements, and performance metrics for front-end operations.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality.
  • Attends department meetings and clinic required meetings.
  • Performs related duties as required.
  • Regular and reliable attendance required.
