About The Position

Systems Application & Technologies, Inc. (SA-TECH) is seeking a Receptionist / Access Control Specialist at NAS Oceana (Virginia Beach, VA) to provide receptionist services for their facilities and the safeguarding of sensitive information. This role is crucial for managing building access, performing security checks, and ensuring the proper issuance of badges. The position reports to the Site Security Representative and is a full-time, exempt role.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English.
  • Must be capable of comprehending and implementing instructions concerning the operation of mechanical equipment such as generators, air conditioners, fire protection equipment, and other emergency equipment.
  • Must attain and maintain current CPR/First Aid certification.
  • Driver’s License required; must be able to be insured through company’s vehicle insurance policy while driving work/government/rental vehicles during working hours, and for the duration of employment.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Must be able to obtain a U.S. DoD Secret Security Clearance prior to hire date and maintain a Secret clearance throughout employment.
  • All candidates will be required to pass background screening to include SSN, Driver Record, and Criminal Background Investigation.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in access control.
  • Experience with visitor management systems.
  • Familiarity with DoD security protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Answer incoming calls, direct callers to requested persons, and take phone messages.
  • Track personnel who enter/exit the facility using the Visitor’s Log.
  • Control building access and perform physical security checks.
  • Issue badges to cleared contractor employees, Government employees, and visitors with a valid Visit Authorization Request (VAR).
  • Caution visitors against the possession of prohibited materials.
  • Maintain a current access roster.
  • Maintain a detailed log of all personnel entering or leaving the facilities.
  • Maintain sentry posts as required.
  • Comprehend and implement instructions concerning the operation of mechanical equipment such as generators, air conditioners, fire protection equipment, and other emergency equipment.
  • Operate motor vehicles to patrol assigned areas (may be required).
  • Visually check vehicles entering restricted areas (may be required).
  • Perform routine clerical work such as recording and transmitting messages, providing information to callers, and making appointments.
  • Assist the Supply Technician with inventory and purchasing (may be required).
  • Perform all other position-related duties as assigned or requested.
