About The Position

Fastenal is hiring an entry-level, part-time Receiving employee for its distribution center in Madison, Mississippi. The role helps move products through the distribution center by verifying arriving inventory and preparing it for the next department. The position may offer a flexible schedule after onboarding, training, and meeting performance goals.

Requirements

Proficient written and oral communication skills.
Proficient computer skills.

Strong math aptitude, attention to detail, and sense of urgency.
Ability to learn and perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Willingness to work a flexible schedule and extra time as needed.

Ability to lift, slide, carry, and lower packages typically weighing 25–50 pounds and sometimes up to 100 pounds.
Pass the required drug screen in the US, Puerto Rico, or Guam.

Responsibilities

Operate computer programs, RF scanners, and printers to label products.
Unload products.
Inspect orders to verify shipment accuracy and report discrepancies.
Inspect products for quality and accuracy.
Use a scale to weigh products.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Follow health, safety, and sustainability rules and expectations.
Participate in activities and programs that support company health, safety, and sustainability objectives.
Learn, pass, and practice environmental health and safety trainings.
