About The Position

Westside Building Supply is a successful, family-owned business focused on serving customers with high-quality products and exceptional customer service. The Receiving/Stocking Associate is responsible for unloading merchandise from trucks, receiving inventory, and stocking shelves within the store. This role involves maintaining stocked, neat, and presentable shelves, assisting customers in finding products, and working with the purchasing manager to learn inventory software, monitor inventory, and assist in building displays and larger products.

Requirements

High School diploma, GED or equivalent.
Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and future random screenings.
Excellent communication skills, high attention to detail, and ability to multitask.
Ability to stand for an extended period of time.
Able to walk, reach, climb ladders, and bend to perform job duties.
Initiative to work with little supervision.
Able to lift up to 50 lbs frequently.
Basic computer skills including typing and data entry. Willing to learn new software.
High level of social maturity including respect, integrity, and honesty.
Ability to relocate to Whatcom County, WA before starting work.

Responsibilities

Unload and load trucks in a safe manner.
Receive and sort merchandise.
Operate a forklift or pallet jack safely and efficiently (training provided).
Separate special orders from delivery and process according to store policy.
Maintain organization in the backroom and warehouse.
Ensure all inbound merchandise is checked in per store procedures.
Learn inventory software.
Help to build displays and assemble larger products (wheelbarrows, carts, etc.).
Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent service.
Maintain a customer-first mentality.
