About The Position

Flow Control Industries is seeking an Inventory Control Specialist for its assembly operation. This role is responsible for all inbound material receiving activities within the facility and ERP system. The specialist will ensure accuracy, quality, and proper documentation of incoming materials. They will support production flow by verifying, labeling, and distributing materials efficiently while maintaining organized and compliant receiving and inventory areas.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2+ years of receiving, warehouse, or material handling experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • Current forklift certification (or ability to obtain)
  • Valid Washington State driver’s license with good record
  • Clear written and verbal communication
  • Legible handwriting for labeling and documentation
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal teams and suppliers
  • Strong counting accuracy and numerical skills
  • Ability to verify quantities and reconcile discrepancies
  • Ability to prioritize multiple incoming shipments
  • Strong attention to detail and root cause identification
  • Ability to resolve discrepancies quickly and effectively
  • Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling up to 40 lbs

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment preferred
  • ISO-regulated environment experience (preferred)
  • Experience with barcode scanners and labeling systems (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Receives all inbound materials in a timely and accurate manner, including comparing product and quantities to purchase orders, verifying material condition upon arrival, identifying and documenting discrepancies or damage, and notifying Purchasing of any issues with shipments.
  • Processes receipts accurately in ERP system (inventory or inspection status).
  • Labels, packages, and prepares materials for storage or inspection.
  • Moves received materials to proper inventory locations or quality inspection.
  • Coordinates with Quality and Production to prioritize incoming materials.
  • Distributes materials to designated staging areas for production as needed.
  • Supports future work order/job traveler material distribution.
  • Maintains clean, organized, and safe receiving and staging areas.
  • Ensures materials are stored properly in racks, shelves, or designated zones.
  • Supports inventory accuracy through proper transaction discipline.
  • Assists with cycle counts and inventory audits as needed.
  • Supports Kanban replenishment process by pulling bins as required and labeling and staging bins for supplier pickup.
  • Assists production team with packaging finished goods and light assembly as needed.
  • Drives to suppliers for pickups/deliveries as needed.
  • Coordinates scrap material removal and recycling activities.
  • Complies with all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintains a clean, hazard-free work environment.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
