About The Position

PGS Worldwide is seeking a Receiving Quality Inspector in Severn, Maryland for a one-year onsite contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This position will perform receiving inspection and quality assurance activities supporting the manufacturing of advanced RF systems for air and space applications. The inspector will evaluate incoming electronic and mechanical materials, review supplier documentation, identify nonconforming material, and work closely with Engineering and Manufacturing teams supporting prototype, New Product Introduction (NPI), and production builds.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; a bachelor’s degree is not required.
  • 5+ years of Quality Assurance experience in a receiving inspection environment.
  • Experience inspecting purchased parts and materials for conformance to engineering and quality specifications.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
  • Experience inspecting electronic components, bare circuit boards, COTS items, and fabricated mechanical parts.
  • Proficiency using precision measurement equipment such as calipers and micrometers.
  • Strong understanding of AS9100 requirements.
  • Experience supporting internal and external quality audits.
  • Strong working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems.
  • Ability to accurately identify, document, and control defective, damaged, or nonconforming material.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Quality inspection experience supporting Aerospace, NASA, and/or FAA programs.
  • Supplier quality experience.
  • Experience with Quality Management Systems.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect incoming purchased parts and materials for compliance with drawings, specifications, and quality requirements.
  • Examine electronic components, bare boards, COTS items, and fabricated parts for defects, damage, and workmanship issues.
  • Perform dimensional inspections to verify accuracy, fit, alignment, and conformance.
  • Review supplier certifications, packing slips, and test reports for compliance with applicable flow-down requirements.
  • Identify, label, document, and control defective or nonconforming materials.
  • Provide Quality Assurance oversight for receiving inspection activities.
  • Participate in Material Review Board (MRB) activities involving nonconforming materials and processes.
  • Maintain accurate inspection and quality records.
  • Support prototype, NPI, and production manufacturing activities.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, suppliers, and other quality personnel to resolve receiving inspection issues.
