About The Position

Coordinates store receiving operations, including vendor and inventory check-in. Provides exceptional customer service and contributes to a positive and collaborative team environment. This is a management / leadership position. Requirements

  • As a retail grocer, we operate 7 days/week and 365 days/year. Our in-store positions are likely to include evening, weekend, and holiday shifts per the needs of the business.
  • Must complete and maintain any required food and work safety trainings/certifications.

  • Previous grocery, retail, receiving, or warehouse experience required.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge with POS, inventory or other retail specific software preferred with ability to learn new software and technology.

Responsibilities

  • Manages and provides oversight to all areas of the department.
  • Assesses, prioritizes and delegates tasks and production.
  • Responsible for accurate scanning of products received into the corresponding inventory management software for each vendor delivery, return, and credit.
  • Receives and checks for quality and condition of all products in accordance with department standards.
  • Receives and verifies quantity and cost of all products delivered or returned with the inventory management system against the invoices, purchase orders, and credits for all departments.
  • Daily communication with all departments of any issues, discrepancies, and the status of all deliveries, returns, and credits.
  • Sets delivery parameters, and performs scheduling with vendors for departments and receiving needs.
  • Monitors receiving hours and resolves any delivery issues.
  • Daily electronic approval of all department invoices into the inventory management systems and import into the accounts payable system for correct vendor payment.
  • Accountable for security and accuracy of checks and COD vendor payments.
  • Responsible for adhering to state and federal liquor regulations for all COD vendor payments, credits, and returns.
  • Maintains the organization and cleanliness of the receiving and dock areas.
  • Works with departments and operations in maintaining and organizing the store recycling areas and department inventory back-stock areas.
  • Maintains awareness of weekly ads, promotions, events and holidays.
  • Follows company procedures for processing invoices, transfers and credits.
  • Handles damaged and spoiled product according to company policy.
  • Maintains professional relationships with vendors.
  • Demonstrates ability to multi-task and manage own time.
  • Adjusts priorities, productivity, efficiency and speed based on needs and conditions of department and store.
  • Delivers exceptional service and demonstrates friendly and attentive behaviors with internal and external customers.
  • Engages internal and external customers in a friendly manner, shares information, assists in locating resources, and seeks opportunities to enhance the customer experience.
  • Ensures that department adheres to company invoice, credit, transfers and inventory procedures.
  • Coaches department to maintain appropriate, accurate and organized inventory and back stock.
  • Handles damaged and spoiled product according to company policy.
  • Directly manages all department staff, including performance management and review writing, scheduling, and providing ongoing training, coaching, development and feedback.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of basic Human Resources concepts; works with resources at store level to increase knowledge.
  • Establishes and maintains effective verbal and written communication systems.
