About The Position

The Receiving & Inventory Coordinator supports daily operations by receiving deliveries, organizing storage areas, maintaining inventory accuracy, and helping ensure products and supplies are handled safely, efficiently, and in accordance with food-safety standards. This role serves as an important link between vendors, delivery drivers, tenants, kitchen teams, and management. The ideal team member is dependable, detail-oriented, organized, safety-minded, and comfortable working in a fast-paced food hall environment where accuracy, communication, cleanliness, and follow-through are essential.

Requirements

  • Ability to accurately receive, inspect, document, organize, and move products and supplies
  • Ability to communicate respectfully and clearly with vendors, tenants, coworkers, delivery drivers, and management
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, follow-through, urgency, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to follow food-safety, sanitation, cold-chain, storage, labeling, and workplace-safety procedures consistently
  • Basic comfort using receiving logs, inventory sheets, tablets, scanners, email, spreadsheets, or inventory systems as needed
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, bend, reach, twist, squat, climb stairs, work in cold storage areas, and perform repetitive lifting and movement throughout the shift
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull items up to 50 pounds regularly and heavier items with proper assistance or equipment when needed

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in receiving, inventory, stockroom, warehouse, food storage, restaurant operations, grocery, hospitality, or facilities support preferred
  • Experience working with refrigerated, frozen, dry-storage, or food-service products preferred
  • Basic knowledge of food safety, FIFO rotation, storage organization, temperature awareness, sanitation, and safe lifting practices preferred
  • Food Handler certification required where applicable by law, regulation, or company policy
  • Forklift, pallet jack, or material-handling equipment experience preferred; certification may be required based on assigned equipment

Responsibilities

  • Receive, inspect, and assist with incoming deliveries, including dry goods, refrigerated items, frozen goods, produce, packaging, and operational supplies
  • Verify delivery accuracy by comparing items received against packing slips, invoices, purchase orders, or other receiving documentation as needed
  • Check products for visible damage, labeling concerns, quality issues, expiration dates, pest evidence, temperature concerns, or signs of improper handling
  • Communicate delivery discrepancies, shortages, damaged products, temperature issues, or other concerns to management promptly
  • Coordinate respectfully with vendors, delivery drivers, tenants, kitchen teams, and management to support smooth receiving and delivery flow
  • Organize and maintain assigned storage areas, including dry storage, walk-in coolers, walk-in freezers, shelving, receiving areas, and back-of-house supply spaces
  • Support accurate inventory counts, product rotation, stock movement, and storage organization to help reduce waste and improve operating efficiency
  • Follow first-in, first-out rotation, date marking, labeling, allergen awareness, and cross-contamination prevention practices
  • Assist with inventory checks, internal product staging, supply tracking, and communication of low-stock items or unauthorized product movement
  • Maintain clear aisles, accessible storage zones, proper product placement, and safe stacking practices in all assigned areas
  • Help maintain food-safety and sanitation standards in receiving, storage, cooler, freezer, and dock areas
  • Monitor temperature-sensitive products during receiving and move refrigerated or frozen items to proper storage promptly
  • Follow cold-chain, temperature-awareness, product-separation, cross-contamination prevention, and safe food-handling procedures
  • Assist with temperature logs, storage checks, product condition reviews, and other compliance-related documentation as directed
  • Report product safety concerns, equipment issues, pest concerns, spills, broken packaging, or storage hazards to management immediately
  • Help coordinate dock activity, delivery staging, freight flow, courier pick-ups, and internal product movement to reduce congestion and support smooth operations
  • Operate material-handling equipment safely, including carts, dollies, pallet jacks, and other equipment as assigned or certified
  • Maintain clean, organized, and hazard-free receiving, loading dock, staging, storage, and waste-disposal areas
  • Assist with trash, recycling, cardboard breakdown, product movement, supply stocking, and general facility support tasks as needed
  • Follow safety procedures when working around delivery vehicles, wet or slick surfaces, heavy products, moving equipment, cold storage areas, and high-traffic work zones
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with coworkers, tenants, delivery drivers, vendors, and management
  • Maintain reliable attendance, punctuality, and readiness to work assigned shifts
  • Adapt to changing delivery schedules, business volume, tenant needs, staffing levels, events, and seasonal demand
  • Work morning, afternoon, evening, weekend, holiday, event, and flexible schedules based on business needs
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support Kress Food Market operations and guest experience
