About The Position

Eaton Aerospace Group in Los Angeles, CA is seeking a Quality Inspector for their first shift. The Los Angeles facility, with approximately 250 employees, is a key player in the design, development, manufacture, and delivery of Aerospace hydraulic components, systems, and services for global aftermarket and OEM markets. This role involves performing in-process and/or outbound dimensional and visual inspections of various component parts and assemblies to ensure conformance to specifications and requirements. The position requires the use of precision measurement equipment and the ability to produce inspection reports. Candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius of the Los Angeles facility and be U.S. persons due to ITAR regulations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) from an accredited institution.
  • Experience working in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams).
  • Must reside within a 50-mile distance of the Los Angeles, CA facility (zip code 90039).
  • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
  • Possesses basic understanding of geometrical tolerancing and dimensional measurements per ASME Y14.5.
  • Possesses basic knowledge of AQL sampling selection per internal procedures or ANSI/ASQC Z1.4 or as directed by customers.

Nice To Haves

  • Mechanical inspection in an aerospace environment.
  • Knowledge or experience inspecting various types of materials (e.g., aluminum, alloy, titanium, stainless steel, etc.).
  • Knowledge or experience inspecting aerospace products with coatings (e.g., anodizing, cadmium plating, chromium plating, nickel plating, zinc plating, passivation, etc.).
  • College or ASQ (American Society for Quality) certification a plus.
  • Experience working in FAA environment.
  • Knowledge of GD&T Inspection

Responsibilities

  • Perform in-process and/or outbound dimensional and visual inspections of hydraulic, pneumatic, electric, and mechanical component parts, assemblies, and sub-assemblies.
  • Inspect aerospace precision machined components and/or assemblies visually and dimensionally for conformance to manufacturing drawings, quality control specifications, and supplier/customer requirements.
  • Review and inspect paperwork and documentation used in the acceptance of product.
  • Produce necessary manual or computer-generated inspection reports to accept or reject products.
  • Use precision measurement equipment such as calipers, micrometers, pin gages, thread plugs, thread ring gages, thread gages, surface plates, spring tester, optical comparator, and surface plates.
  • Complete data processing move transactions as required.
