About The Position

The Receiving Inspector is responsible for the incoming inspection of various aerospace components, including castings, forgings, raw material, and semi-finished/finished parts. This role involves performing visual and dimensional inspections using appropriate gaging and measuring equipment, reviewing supplier certifications and test reports for conformance, and ensuring parts meet customer specifications. The inspector must also interpret operation sheets and blueprints and complete required paperwork for defective parts or those needing rework.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of inspection experience in an aerospace environment
  • Previous experience performing dimensional and visual inspection in an aerospace environment
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical documents, blueprints, and customer specifications
  • Working knowledge of geometric tolerancing, gages, micrometers, borescopes and other measuring tools
  • Strong background in manufacturing and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Experience reviewing supplier certification paperwork for conformance including validating material properties, dimensional results, and compliance to customer specifications.
  • Experience performing and documenting First Article Inspections in accordance with AS9102.
  • Proficient computer skills including a basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
  • Good attitude and a willingness to learn a new trade or skill.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience performing incoming inspection in an aerospace environment
  • Experience performing XRF verification of material and interpreting results.

Responsibilities

  • Incoming inspection of castings, forgings, raw material, and semi-finished/finished aerospace components.
  • Sample inspect parts for conformance and review supplier certificates and test reports for conformance.
  • Perform visual and dimensional inspection using required gaging and measuring equipment.
  • Interpret operation sheets and blueprints to ensure parts meet customer criteria for an acceptable part.
  • Ensure that all parts being inspected meet criteria for an acceptable part.
  • Complete required paperwork for defective parts or those needing re-work.
