About The Position

The Receiving Inspector is responsible for performing detailed visual and dimensional inspections of incoming aircraft parts, materials, and components to ensure compliance with applicable regulatory standards, engineering specifications, and company quality requirements. This role supports the integrity of the supply chain by verifying documentation, identifying non-conforming material, and ensuring all articles meet FAA and Comlux Repair Station Manual (RSQM) requirements prior to release for use.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Working knowledge of quality systems and inspection processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic computer systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of inspection and measurement techniques.
  • Proficiency in the use of precision measuring instruments and tools.
  • Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy and accountability.
  • Effective problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining compliance with strict regulatory and quality standards.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s Degree or technical certification in aviation maintenance, avionics, or a related field preferred.
  • Prior experience in receiving inspection, quality inspection, or aviation maintenance environment preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Perform inspection of incoming aircraft parts, materials, components, and engines in accordance with FAA regulations, company procedures, and applicable specifications.
  • Conduct accurate visual and dimensional inspections using precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and other test equipment.
  • Verify documentation including certificates of conformance, airworthiness documentation (e.g., FAA Form 8130-3), and supplier paperwork for accuracy and compliance.
  • Identify, document, and segregate non-conforming materials; initiate rejection reports and coordinate return or corrective actions as required.
  • Ensure all incoming aircraft articles are properly tagged and documented in accordance with the Repair Station Manual (RSQM).
  • Enter inspection results and material data into company systems accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Maintain organized records including inspection reports, certifications, Supplier Non-Conformance Reports (SNRs), and related documentation.
  • Retrieve and review technical data, drawings, and specifications as required to support inspection activities.
  • Interface with Purchasing and suppliers to resolve documentation discrepancies or certification issues.
  • Track and coordinate calibration requirements for Precision Measuring Equipment (PME), including database updates and notification of out-of-tolerance conditions to Quality Assurance.
  • Maintain current knowledge of FAA regulations, inspection techniques, and company quality procedures.
  • Follow all safety procedures and utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) while performing inspection duties.
