About The Position

Westerman, Inc., an employee-owned company, is a multiple site manufacturer of production and storage equipment within the oil, gas, and nuclear industries. Our equipment helps optimize well pad design, improve separation efficiency and lower overall equipment spend through high-performance surface separation and processing technology. Our equipment is setting new standards for performance and economics nationwide. The Receiving Inspector is responsible for all mechanical, visual and dimensional inspections of parts being received to facility. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated, problem solver who utilizes knowledge and understanding as well as a strong work ethic to ensure all inventory control specifications and quality are met. This is a safety sensitive position.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 1 year previous inventory experience required; manufacturing inventory experience strongly preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of inventory-related procedures and system transactions.
  • Detailed knowledge of product lines and production processes associated with each.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform daily clerical tasks associated with reviewing production, receiving, and shipping data for accuracy.
  • General math, problem solving, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in creating and using Excel spread sheets to support position activities.
  • Good organizational and follow-up skills.
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Must understand and follow all safety and quality policies and procedures.
  • Willingness to obtain additional schooling upon request.

Responsibilities

  • Regular and punctual attendance at work is an essential job function of each position and is necessary to your individual effectiveness and that of your work group. Regular and punctual attendance is required of all employees.
  • Utilize various inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, thread gauges, checks dimensions/processes on parts or raw material to ensure compliance to manufacturing drawings/blueprints/specifications.
  • Perform mechanical, visual, and dimensional inspections of parts using inspection hand tools.
  • Communicate with buyers on quality issues.
  • Attach correct labeling to outside of cartons/pallets.
  • Store products in warehouse and do transactions to adjust inventory on the system.
  • Must be able to work from blueprints for visual dimensional inspection of purchased or manufactured products utilizing measuring instruments.
  • Material request verification and validation – ensuring that materials are captured correctly, and work orders are modified to capture changes.
  • Ensures revision parts are delivered to the correct teams and any parts removed via revision are reclaimed to inventory.
  • Responsible for part location and quantity validation.
  • Performs cycle counts consistently, and variances tracked and verified to maintain correct QOH.
  • Performs location audits and consolidation.
  • Responsible for any additional tasks identified by Warehouse Manager
  • Other duties as required and assigned.
