Job Summary Responsible for inspecting incoming materials, parts, and products to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications before being accepted into inventory or production. This role plays a critical part in maintaining product quality and operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree in a technical field a plus.
  • 2+ years of experience in quality control or inspection, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
  • Strong knowledge of various measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, etc.) and their proper use.
  • Familiarity with Quality Management Systems (QMS) and relevant quality standards (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100).
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to accurately document inspection results and generate reports.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal teams and suppliers.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Perform visual and dimensional inspections of incoming materials, components, and finished goods against engineering drawings, specifications, and purchase orders.
  • Utilize various measurement tools and equipment, including calipers, micrometers, gauges, and optical comparators, to verify product conformity.
  • Document inspection results accurately and thoroughly, including acceptance, rejection, and any identified non-conformances.
  • Initiate Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) for rejected materials and collaborate with quality engineering, procurement, and suppliers to resolve issues.
  • Verify supplier certifications, test reports, and other required documentation for incoming shipments.
  • Maintain a clean and organized inspection area and ensure all inspection equipment is calibrated and in good working order.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and company quality procedures.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action activities as needed.
  • Assist with inventory control and material handling as required.
