About The Position

The Quality Inspector is responsible for performing inspections of materials, components, and finished products to ensure they meet the required quality standards. This role involves conducting routine inspections, documenting results, and communicating quality issues to the Quality Supervisor and production teams. The Quality Inspector plays a key role in maintaining product quality and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • 1–3 years of experience in quality inspection or a manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with quality control processes, inspection techniques, and tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, work instructions, and quality standards.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to detect defects or non-conformance.
  • Excellent communication skills for reporting issues and collaborating with team members.
  • Ability to operate and maintain basic inspection tools, such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with quality documentation systems.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

  • Perform inspections on incoming materials, in-process components, and finished products according to established quality standards and specifications.
  • Use measurement tools, gauges, and other inspection equipment to evaluate product quality.
  • Document inspection results and report findings to the Quality Supervisor and production team.
  • Identify and document defects or non-conformities, and assist in root cause analysis to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Work closely with the production team to ensure adherence to quality standards and provide feedback to improve processes.
  • Participate in quality control meetings to discuss trends, quality concerns, and corrective actions.
  • Assist in the maintenance, and organization of inspection tools and equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards during inspections.
  • Provide support during audits and inspections by regulatory bodies or customers.
  • Verify industry specification revisions
  • Maintain receiving of customer rejections/returns.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities, including suggesting and implementing improvements to inspection processes.
  • Maintains supplier turnback log and supplier rating
  • Communicate with purchasing for cert corrections
  • Subject Matter Expert of receiving inspection. Primary trainer.
  • Assists with tracking of supplier cert turn backs for supplier quality KPI.
  • Oversees certification legibility to prevent customer turn backs.
  • Perform and log weekly hardness tester verifications
  • Log material testing within the testing file once received
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Quality Supervisor to support quality control efforts.
