About The Position

Salas O’Brien is seeking a full-time Receiving Inspector to support the Scorpius project in Los Alamos, New Mexico. The role inspects incoming shipments and precision-engineered parts before acceptance into inventory or release for use. The inspector ensures materials meet purchase-order, drawing, documentation, and quality requirements while supporting timely project execution.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to read basic mechanical drawings, part numbers, and specifications and use precision measuring tools.
• Accurate documentation and familiarity with inspection reports and material tracking.
• U.S. citizenship is required for this project.
• Must successfully complete a background check and drug screening as conditions of employment and site access.

Nice To Haves

• Two or more years of receiving, quality, or manufacturing inspection experience.
• Experience with precision-machine, vacuum-system, or other specialized equipment.

Responsibilities

• Inspect incoming Scorpius shipments, machined parts, equipment, and assemblies against purchase orders, drawings, and specifications.
• Check quantities, part identification, physical condition, material records, and certificates of conformance where required.
• Use calipers, micrometers, gauges, and inspection procedures to verify dimensions and tolerances.
• Document inspection results and material traceability; segregate and report damaged or nonconforming items.
• Coordinate discrepancies with inventory, quality, procurement, and engineering before release to assembly.
