About The Position

SpaceX is leveraging its experience building rockets and spacecraft to deploy Starlink, the world’s largest satellite constellation and most advanced broadband internet system. We provide reliable and fast internet to millions of users worldwide, including populations with little or no connectivity, rural communities, aircraft, watercraft, and places where existing services are unreliable, too expensive, or disconnected by natural disasters. We design, build, test, and operate all parts of the system, thousands of satellites and consumer antennae that allow users to connect within minutes of unboxing. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate
  • 2+ years of receiving, precision, or metrological inspection experience

Nice To Haves

  • Familiar with AS9100 Quality Management System standard
  • Experience with inspection equipment such as micrometers, calipers, and profilometer
  • Quality inspection experience within the aerospace, automotive, semiconductor, or electronics field
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications using ASME Y14.5
  • Experience with GD&T and use of metrology tools and gauges
  • Experience with Lean manufacturing principles, such as FIFO, 5S, material flow
  • Experience with Microsoft Office platform

Responsibilities

  • Perform documentation review and verification of certifications, specifications, and conformance to design requirements through eCerts or physical copies
  • Complete receiving transactions of incoming product per established procedures
  • Approve or reject items and documents based on inspection results as required
  • Communicate with internal customers and suppliers to resolve inspection discrepancies, documentation issues, and packaging damage
  • Use electronic MRP system to document issues and route parts and components to proper departments
  • Resolve nonconformance and documentation issues, support quality management system policies and procedure documentation, assess compliance to company and industry standards, and participate in continual improvement and Lean manufacturing initiatives
  • Communicate and resolve roadblocks timely and accurately to ensure delivery and on-time receipt status
