About The Position

The Receiving Inspector II performs inspection of purchased parts, materials, components and equipment as materials are received from vendors or subcontractors. This role conducts detailed dimensional and visual inspections on critical parts, assemblies, and raw material, including first piece, in-process, incoming, and final. The inspection involves using tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, optical comparator, and more. The inspector works from drawings, sketches and specifications, adapting inspection measuring devices and procedures where necessary. They document inspection findings, produce necessary documentation/reports, and establish acceptance or rejection. This role determines or assists in determining methods, sequences, and procedures necessary for inspection and works on assignments that are moderately difficult, requiring judgment in resolving issues or in making recommendations. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum High School diploma or GED equivalent is required.
  • Minimum 2 – 4 years of mechanical inspection experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the requirements, maintenance, and implementation of ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 guidelines required
  • Experienced using tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges and optical comparator
  • This position requires traveling to the supplier sites within 100 miles
  • Must have a valid driver's license and clean DMV record
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in MS Office Suite needed to document findings and produce inspection reports
  • Demonstrates competency in reading, comprehending, and ensuring compliance to internal standards, drawings, and customer requirements
  • U.S. Citizenship required

  • Vocational school or Technical training is preferred or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Demonstrated familiarity with source inspections and/or audits is desired
  • Demonstrates intermediate to advanced drawing interpretation skills
  • Demonstrates understanding of geometrical tolerancing and dimensional measurements
  • Is highly motivated, committed to high quality standards, and be able to function with minimal supervision
