About The Position

The Receiving Coordinator - Steel is responsible for coordinating accurate and timely steel receiving, inventory movement, drop ship receipts, and related material transactions across Bradford White manufacturing facilities, suppliers, and external partners. This role works closely with Steel Procurement, Material Planning, Operations, Accounts Payable, suppliers, and logistics partners to process receipts, maintain supporting documentation, resolve issues, and ensure inventory activity is completed accurately.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in shipping, receiving, warehousing, or manufacturing
  • Proficiency with computer skills, math, and problem solving.
  • Strong math and problem-solving skills to be applied in a manufacturing environment
  • Situational leadership, ethics, problem-solving, strategic thinking, and cultural competency
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to evaluate data and consider decision impact across multiple areas
  • Ability to multi-task, take initiative, make decisions, work to plan, and delegate as needed
  • High degree of self-motivation and the ability to work independently

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates and prioritizes steel receipts, inventory movement, and related material activity across Bradford White facilities, suppliers, and external partners
  • Processes steel receipts and inventory transactions in Oracle
  • Tracks inbound steel shipment activity from suppliers, including lot codes, receipt status, and transaction completion
  • Coordinates material transfers to and from outside facilities and partners to support inventory visibility and availability
  • Processes drop ship receipts, surcharges, and freight for designated suppliers and partners, ensuring required documentation is retained
  • Partners with Accounts Payable to audit receipts, review open purchase orders, and support payment runs that help secure applicable supplier discounts
  • Collects packing slips, bills of lading, and other receiving documentation; scans and organizes records digitally for retention, research, and audit support
  • Verifies inbound shipment details against purchase orders, packing lists, and physical material; escalates discrepancies, shortages, overages, or damage as needed
  • Monitors priority or time-sensitive shipments and communicates status updates or concerns to the appropriate teams
  • Provides direction to material handling resources for steel receipts, transfers, staging, and other material movement needs throughout the shift
  • Communicates open issues, follow-up items, and material movement priorities through shift updates, pass-down communication, and direct coordination with affected teams
  • Supports operations teams with additional receiving, inventory, and material movement activities as business needs require
