About The Position

The Receiving Clerk is responsible for verifying the accuracy of incoming shipments by comparing items and quantities against purchase order receiving copies. This role involves documenting and photographing damaged goods, ensuring proper identification of goods for routing to various departments, and maintaining accurate records of all received items. The clerk is expected to maintain an organized and efficient workspace, adhere to all receiving processes, and assist in maintaining organized inventory. Key responsibilities also include reporting quality problems to supervisors, following departmental procedures, and recommending improvements. The position requires assisting with product placement using motorized lift trucks and/or hand carts, performing other assigned tasks within the shipping system, and maintaining a safe and clean working environment in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. The individual must also exhibit Sealing Devices SCORE values in all daily work activities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least six months of job-related experience.
  • Communication - Advanced professional written and oral communication skills, including presentation skills.
  • Customer Oriented - Ability to take care of the customers’ needs while following company procedures.
  • Honesty / Integrity - Ability to be truthful and be seen as credible in the workplace.
  • Teamwork - Working as a productive member of a cohesive group toward a common goal, and contributing to team development and effective team dynamics.

Responsibilities

  • Verify the accuracy of incoming shipments by comparing items and quantities unloaded against purchase order receiving copy.
  • Document and photograph damaged goods as needed.
  • Ensure goods are appropriately identified for routing to departments within the establishment.
  • Prepare and keep records of goods received.
  • Maintain an organized and efficient workspace and following all receiving processes and helping to maintain organized inventory.
  • Report quality problems to applicable supervisor.
  • Follow departmental procedures and work instructions as written and recommend improvements as necessary.
  • Assist in the placement of products in their correct location in the plant through use of a motorized lift truck and/or hand carts.
  • Perform any other tasks/activity assigned by the supervisor within the scope of the shipping system.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with policies, guidelines, and regulatory requirements per the Sealing Devices Quality System.
  • Responsible for exhibiting Sealing Devices SCORE values in all daily work activities.
