ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES: Associates to perform all safety checks at the start of their shift this includes by not limited to all forklifts and tools and complete the necessary documentation. Continue to perform safety checks throughout the shift. Perform receiving verification in the purchasing section of the company’s computer system. Compares identifying information and counts, weights, or measure items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bill of lading, invoices, orders or other records. Communicates verbally on receipt of critical materials. Perform inspections using Quality Assurance procedures and work instructions. Perform inspection verification in the computer system. Must label all accepted material. Segregate and label non-conforming product. Follow-up until a final disposition is made. Inspect unloaded materials for visible damage and check for proper paperwork including material certifications. Email Purchasing Supervisor regarding returns for any defective or incorrect items. Maintain organization of raw materials, optimizing access to the material and minimizing floor space. As necessary, prepare trucks and tanks for shipment. Provide support to the stockroom, including knowledge of stockroom policies and procedures. Assist when needed in stockroom, to cover for team member absences. Job may require handling or moving of hazardous waste. Job may require use of forklift upon absence of designated material handlers, to put away and distribute accepted material. Maintains a clean and organized receiving area. Verify MTR’s & PED Certs as required. MTR’s to be checked against part description. Check physical and chemical properties on MTR. Provides full coverage of primary shipping functions during periods of absence to support departmental continuity. Perform other business-related duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor or management. EQUIPMENT KNOWLEDGE: Knowledge of company computer systems. Proper operation of forklift as needed, and successfully complete any training and/or safety program relating to the operation of the equipment. Be able to accurately use tape measures, levels, calipers, micrometers, UT thickness gages and other inspection instruments. ROLE REQUIREMENTS: Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment to meet team expectations. Understanding and support of Company policies and procedures. Ability to understand and abide by all safety rules and regulations to perform the job. Must have a basic understanding of computers. Must have reading, writing and simple math skills. Must be able to read blue prints. Must have either a High School diploma, 3-5 years’ experience or an associates degrees (or equivalent) or at least 1 year working experience in an industrial based environment. Customer Service experience, data entry experience. Must be able to learn effectively utilize Samuels ERP system as relevant to positions. Must be able to work a standard 40-hour workweek, with additional hours as required to meet business needs. Must exhibit strong, respectful communication skills when interacting with peers, customers, vendors, and cross-functional teams.
