About The Position

The Receiving Clerk is responsible for managing incoming shipments, ensuring accuracy, and maintaining inventory records in the Warehouse. This role involves systematically receiving plant materials, identifying items, verifying counts, maintaining accurate records, and enforcing safety policies for truck drivers. The position also requires operating power industrial trucks, managing overdue receiving, and identifying/escalating issues with damaged or incorrect shipments. Additionally, the Receiving Clerk will perform cycle counting, deliver non-production materials, maintain product labeling, and contribute to improving receiving procedures.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED from an accredited institution
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without out company sponsorship, now or in the future
  • No relocation is being offered for this role. All candidates considered must live within 50 miles of the Richmond, VA location. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years experience in shipping/receiving
  • Ability to work extended hours.
  • Forklift and pallet jack experience
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Systematically receive plant materials, identify items, and verify counts upon arrival
  • Maintain accurate records and document control for purchase orders, interfacility transfers, packing slips, and BOLs.
  • Enforce hot list communications
  • Identify vendor parts
  • Enforce safety/company policies for truck drivers entering the facility
  • Operate power industrial trucks (forklift, electric pallet jack) as needed
  • Manage overdue receiving, vendor service logs, and research/escalate lost material transactions as needed.
  • Identify, record, quarantine, escalate, and analyze root causes of damaged, unidentified, or incorrect receipts and problematic shipments.
  • Understand the effects of received goods in the inventory system
  • Perform cycle counting as needed
  • Deliver non-production materials
  • Maintain the labeling of product upon receipt
  • Develop or improve upon receiving procedures
  • Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned
