About The Position

Toledo Tool & Die is adding a Receiving Clerk to their team to support continued growth. This is a full-time position based in Toledo, Ohio, offering competitive wages, growth opportunities, and a clean, safe work environment. The hours for this position are typically 1st shift: Monday - Friday, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm, with availability for overtime (daily, weekends & some holidays).

Requirements

  • Previous experience in Shipping & Receiving REQUIRED
  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least one (1) year of work-related skill, knowledge, or experience in a fast-paced Shipping/Receiving environment is needed for this occupation.
  • Knowledge of electronic equipment and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming.
  • Able to communicate effectively to a wide range of audiences in a clear and concise manner using proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, production methods, coordination of people and resources, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Software (Word, Excel, Powerpoint), ERP Software, managing files and records, and designing forms.
  • Operate a forklift.
  • Must be available to work overtime (daily, weekends & some holidays)

Nice To Haves

  • Preferably with an OEM or Tier I/II supplier in the automotive environment.

Responsibilities

  • Examine shipment contents and compare with records, such as manifests, invoices, or orders, to verify accuracy.
  • Requisition and store shipping materials and supplies to maintain inventory of stock.
  • Prepare documents, such as work orders, bills of lading, or shipping orders, to route materials.
  • Pack, seal, label, or affix postage to prepare materials for shipping, using hand tools, power tools, or postage meter.
  • Record shipment data, such as weight, charges, space availability, damages, or discrepancies, for reporting, accounting, or recordkeeping purposes.
  • Confer or correspond with establishment representatives to rectify problems, such as damages, shortages, or nonconformance to specifications.
  • Deliver or route materials to departments using handtruck, conveyor, or sorting bins.
  • Contact carrier representatives to make arrangements or to issue instructions for shipping and delivery of materials.
  • Cycle count consumable materials.
  • Determine shipping methods, routes, or rates for materials to be shipped.
  • Compute amounts, such as space available, shipping, storage, or demurrage charges, using computer or price list.
  • Compare shipping routes or methods to determine which have the least environmental impact.
  • Authority to stop production in the event unsafe parts or conditions appear.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the immediate Supervisor and/or Manager, which may be outside the scope of responsibilities noted above.
