About The Position

The Receiving Checker is responsible for verifying purchase orders, ensuring that Bills of Lading match the items on the purchase order and that all information matches corresponding paperwork. This role involves counting products, constructing pallets according to specifications, and determining pallet dimensions. The checker will also notify Inventory Control of any items without a pick slot and instruct the Lumper service on proper pallet building procedures. Additionally, the position requires processing paperwork, obtaining approval for changes, informing management of any issues that may delay merchandise processing, and completing daily PIT checklists. The Receiving Checker must operate PIT equipment safely, follow safety procedures, maintain an organized work area, and adhere to all company policies and procedures. This is a full-time position with a shift from Monday to Thursday, 7 PM to 5:30 AM.

Requirements

  • Counting skills required.

Responsibilities

  • Verifies purchase orders, ensuring Bills of Lading match items and paperwork (inner pack, dimensions, carton quantity).
  • Counts all products to ensure information accuracy.
  • Achieves set standards (engineer or productivity) on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
  • Constructs pallets in accordance with dimensions on paperwork.
  • Determines and sets up dimensions and pallet (high/tie).
  • Notifies Inventory Control if an item does not have a pick slot.
  • Instructs Lumper service in proper and safe building of pallets.
  • Applies proper decal/license and secures pallet using shrink-wrap or tape.
  • Processes paperwork, ensuring it is signed, reconciled, and correct.
  • Receives approval for changing information by notifying Slot Clerk of differences found between paperwork and merchandise.
  • Informs management of anything that will prohibit the timely processing of merchandise.
  • Completes the daily PIT checklist to ensure equipment is working properly and reports any defects.
  • Operates PIT equipment in a safe manner.
  • Follows set safety procedures and guidelines.
  • Maintains an organized work area and promotes a safe working environment.
  • Follows all Company policies and procedures.
