About The Position

The Receiving Attendant is responsible for ensuring that all food, beverage, and nonfood deliveries are received, inspected and coincide with an approved purchase order. This role involves logging all incoming/outgoing guest packages, maintaining an effective filing system for purchase orders and delivery status, conducting inventories on all storerooms and coolers to ensure adequate supplies for the resort in the absence of the purchaser, and promptly reviewing and filling all department requisitions. The position requires ensuring storerooms are stocked and ready for business daily, assisting with loading and unloading deliveries, and moving items from the receiving area throughout the resort. Direct customer interaction with vendors is a key part of the role, as is examining contents and comparing work orders, POs, and invoices to verify accuracy of shipments. Communication with department leadership regarding deliveries, using equipment like hand trucks and pallet trucks, answering the department's phone, and responding to vendor, guest, and employee needs are also essential functions. The Receiving Attendant will assist in preparing interdepartmental or external correspondence, ensure training in proper receiving procedures for product freshness, and assist in month-end or quarterly inventories. Maintaining the office supplies storage room, attending training/meetings as required, and maintaining the cleanliness of the loading dock, storeroom, refrigerator, and freezer areas are also part of the responsibilities. The role requires flexibility in schedule, including weekends and holidays, and the ability to work in various conditions.

Requirements

  • Excellent communication skills with fluency in English required.
  • Must possess a High School Diploma and progressive experience in hospitality.
  • Ability to understand and utilize basic computer equipment and applications, including Microsoft 365 Office.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, motor vehicle background check will be completed.
  • Food Handlers Certification (must comply with State regulations).
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced, deadline driven environment.
  • Must be able to stand/walk for prolonged periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift, up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to work in hot/cold conditions in kitchens.
  • Must be able work in different types of weather sometimes extreme, including high temperatures and humidity.
  • Must be able to work with hands, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch.
  • Strong organizational management and analytical skills.
  • Clear, concise written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.
  • Must work well in stressful high-pressure situations.
  • Must be effective in handling problems in the workplace including anticipating preventing identifying and solving problems as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain cleanliness of the loading dock, storeroom, refrigerator, and freezer areas always.
