About The Position

The Receiver handles daily receipt of merchandise delivered by vendor trucks. The role examines shipments for defects and shortages against receiving documents, records reasons for returning goods, unloads and moves incoming shipments to storage, and forwards approved receiving documents to the appropriate department for processing. Other duties may be assigned. This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED; or one to three months of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Demonstrate product knowledge of materials received.
• Communicate clearly, listen, and seek clarification.
• Demonstrate accuracy, thoroughness, productivity, and timeliness.
• Observe safety and security procedures and use equipment and materials properly.
• Be consistently present and punctual, follow instructions, and take responsibility for actions.
• Ability to perform the physical demands of the role, including occasionally lifting and/or moving more than 100 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Examine shipments for defects and shortages against receiving documents.
• Record factors causing goods to be returned.
• Unload and move incoming shipments to storage.
• Forward approved receiving documents to the appropriate department for processing.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
